Chinese Who Celebrated Royal Wedding Should be Ashamed

Globally, an estimated two billion watched the Royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton, but I was not among them. Whilst ardent Republicans stood their ground in opposition of the Royal family's parasitic leeching on the state, as a Chinese, that was not of primary concern. Nor the British crown's historical role in sanctioning the opium trade during the Qing dynasty resulting in the poisoning of our Chinese  ancestors, the subsequent lost wars with Britain, the theft and looting of national Chinese treasures that still adorn the Royal collections in Britain, no, rather it is the vainglorious xenophobic attitudes still prevalent among the Royal family today.

Prince William's father, Charles is known to call his dark skinned friend by the name of 'Sooty,' boycotted Jiang Zemin's banquet over Tibet and in his personal diary after the hand over of Hong Kong in 1997 described Chinese officials as 'appalling waxworks.'

Prince William's military brother Harry, haughtily decked out in Nazi attire and labelled non-white soldiers 'p*ki's' and 'ragheads.'

Yet none can surpass William's Sinophobic grandfather Prince Philip...
"If it has got four legs and is not a chair, if it has two wings and it flies but is not an aeroplane, and if it swims and is not a submarine, the Cantonese will eat it."                                       (Prince Philip Commenting on Chinese eating habits, World Wildlife Fund conference 1986)

"If you stay here much longer you'll all be slitty-eyed."                                 (Prince Philip commenting to British students in China during Royal visit to China 1986)

"Ghastly."                                                                                                                        (Prince Philip Commenting on Beijing, China, during an official 1986 visit to Beijing)
Those unaware of Prince Philip's racist gaffes will certainly be familiar with his Duke of Edinburgh awards, established in 1956, Prince Philip remains the patron of  the scheme. Many Chinese students in British and Hong Kong schools servilely participate in the Duke of Edinburgh scheme without question, Chinese should  withdraw their child from the Duke of Edinburgh scheme, for the sake of an award to impress on a university application form? No, Chinese should not acquiesce nor honour such schemes in the name of Anti-Chinese Sinophobe's such as the Duke of Edinburgh.

As a modern British Born Chinese living in a multicultural country, the wedding of an archaic anti-Chinese institution was one event one did not watch, Chinese people who watched and celebrated William and Kate's wedding should be ashamed of themselves, as should the widely reported shameful pair of middle class obsequious Uncle Tam's from Nanjing China with their imitation shanzhai marriage on a Royal theme.

Simon Ledger Arrested For Racism After Singing Kung Fu Fighting

A pub singer has been arrested on suspicion of racially aggravated harassment for singing the classic chart hit Kung Fu Fighting. The song, performed by Simon Ledger, 34, is said to have offended two Chinese people as they walked past the bar where he was singing.

Full Article: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1380971/Simon-Ledger-arrested-racism-performing-Kung-Fu-Fighting.html

The entertainer regularly performs the 1974 number one hit, originally by disco star Carl Douglas, at the Driftwood Beach Bar in Sandown, on the Isle of Wight.

‘We were performing Kung Fu Fighting, as we do during all our sets,’ he said.

‘People of all races were loving it.  Chinese people have never been offended by it before.

‘But this lad walking past with his mum started swearing at us and making obscene hand gestures before taking a picture on his mobile phone. We hadn’t even seen them when we started the song. He must have phoned the police.’

A Hampshire police spokesman last night said a 32-year-old man of Chinese origin had claimed he was subjected to racial abuse.

He added: ‘If a victim believes that an alleged crime is racially aggravated, the police will treat it seriously. Investigations into this incident are continuing.’

The spokesman said a 34-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing harassment, alarm or distress under section 4a of the Public Order Act 1986.

At the bottom of the Daily Mail article is this comment...
"I am 100% pure Chinese, i start hearing this song since early 80s. I did not ever get offended by this song, in fact i like it. What's wrong with the song. What racist it make, unless this Simon change some of the lyrics, this we not sure as we are not there at that time. " - Warthog :), Singapore, 27/4/2011 16:45

BBCZeitgeist Commentary:

Through (obtained) third party emails from Simon Ledger, he makes two claims...

1) He did not make an offensive comment
2) Police report states the Chinese felt offended by the intro of the 'Kung Fu Fighting' song.

If it is 'presumed' his statement is correct, no gesticulation nor racist comment was uttered, it is probable the 'oriental riff' caused offence - a relic from the heydays of orientalist stereotyping.

But objectively, we don't have access to police reports and the Chinese victim has not come forward with his story.

In any case, the manner in which Simon Ledger defended himself is tasteless, rather than taking a defensive stance, he should have acknowledged the victim's perspective by saying something along the lines of..."I didn't know it was offensive, but I realise now that it can be construed as racist, therefore I won't perform the song any more," in contrast, he milked the situation, even performing the song with Carl Douglas, it is further mocking Chinese that feel offended by the song.

He fails to understand the nature of harassment, it is subjective, the victim's perspective needs consideration, however he is not interested in the victims perspective, rather he is claiming to be the victim. No perpetrator will say... "Yes, I'm a racist, I like harassing people." He has reiterated...

"I love Chinese people, I love China etc."

So this is his way of showing how much he appreciates Chinese by performing an oriental riff?

This incident is a victory for casual racists who will use the Ledger case as a precedent to plead innocent to any form of harassment or abuse directed towards Chinese people, they know that in future, they can go to the press with a Simon Ledger re-run, thus applying public pressure to drop the case. The press never asks nor consults the Chinese community for their opinion on any incident of racism towards the Chinese. It confirms what we have known for decades, Chinese are still open season to casual racism.

Asian Fetish - Dark seedy world of Asiaphilia

Seedy side of Asiaphilia

It is good timing the press covered two incidents of White male Asian fetish.

English womaniser Hugh Grant, previously arrested in 1995 for curb crawling a Black prostitute to satisfy his jungle fetish is now rumoured to have turned into a rice chaser.  According to the News of the World, Hugh Grant is dating his Chinese neighbour Tinglan Hong who could also be carrying his child.

The actor has previously revealed his attraction to 'Eastern' girls. He said last year after a visit to China: ‘I must say I’m very charmed by Chinese women so far, I’ve been here only 24 hours, but I’ve fallen in love four times.'
There is a concurrent story from the Daily Mail (24/4/2011 - 25/4/2011) about another White male Asian fetisher, former actor, Canadian born Brian Scott Dickson.

Brian Dickson, 29, is charged with the first-degree murder of Chinese student Qian Liu AKA Qian Necole Liu, whose semi-naked body was found in her flat near York University in Toronto. Her Chinese boyfriend watched live on webcam 6,000 miles away in Beijing as she struggled with her attacker.

Murdered Qian Liu

Officers from Toronto’s child exploitation unit are now investigating whether the 29-year-old is linked to any of the grizzly posts found on internet website...tribe.ca over a 10-year period...

...the former York student lists three women of an Asian background as his favourite adu1t movie stars including “ch*rmanestar” (a Filipina p*rn star) and talks openly about his infatuation with “Asian girls 12-16.”
He specifically targeted Asian women for casting opportunities and according to his father trawled dating sites for Asian women to date.

In another famous case in 2005, http://www.asianweek.com/2005/04/29/princeton-incident-shows-extreme-case-of-asian-fetish/

Michael Lohman, 28, a third-year doctoral student, was arrested for surreptitiously cutting locks of hair from at least nine Asian women. He also admitted to pouring his ur*ne and sem*n into the drinks of Asian women more than 50 times in Princeton’s graduate student dining hall and other places. Investigators found women’s underwear and mittens filled with the hair of Asian women at the apartment Lohman shared with his wife of four years, who is Asian. Police believe Lohman stole the mittens from Asian women and then used them to m*sturbate.

For the likes of Brian Dickson, Hugh Grant and Michael Lohman, Asian fetish takes the form of a sexual fetish, it is the darker seedier side of Asiaphilia.

One  stumbled across two perturbing internet blogs that further illustrates the seedy side of Asiaphilia, The first blog relates to Korean culture...

TheGrandNarrative.com

Right hand column of its homepage pays homage to the most scatological topics imaginable from Korean virgnity, sexual objectification of Korean girls, prostitution, pedophilia, STI rates of infection, sexualisation of children, lolita, child abuse, rape to feminisation of Korean men etc.

These unhealthy cultural topics typically intrigue westerners with their sexualised fetishizing and stereotyping of East Asian orientals, their bodies and their oriental culture - notably Japanese and Korean (to a lesser extent Chinese, a less sexualised culture, the fixation Westerners have with China tends to revolve around general human rights abuse), Westerners also typically obsess over battered wife syndrome in the Muslim world.

Whilst the aforementioned topics are synonymous with Women's Studies,  largely written and read by feminist women, in this case however, the site runner isn't a woman but a man, an Asiaphile, a White Koreanophile male to be exact - James Turnbull, his fixation with  Korean culture is entirely related to the sexual side of young Asian females, it is a familiar trait of Asian fetish. He fails to see the irony in discussing the sexualisation or objectification of Asian girls, when he is a White Asiaphile male living in the Far East with an Asian wife.

There are few analogous examples of East Asian's studying White girls in the same manner Westerners to do so with Asian's, in particular Asian women, except perhaps the likes of mentally deranged Japanese cannibal Izzy Sagawa, this is a like for like comparison. The sheer arrogance with which Caucasians continuously study, analyse and pass judgement on other races in the manner of a zoological exhibit typifies westcentric views on the rest of the world, Asians should reverse study these Caucasians, put them on trial in the same way they put the world on trial.

Whilst the unsavoury nature of Asiaphile White males is well documented, what does it  say about the types of Asian women who have no qualms about dating or marrying these types of reprehensible White men with Asian fetish? Given Hugh Grant's publicised track record, what does it say about Ting lan Hong? What does it say about the Asian wife of Michael Lohman or the Asian ex-girlfriends of Brian Dickson? The  creepiness of Asiaphile White male is only surpassed by the Asian women who are attracted to them.

One such Asian female is: Crystal Tao (a 'Suzy Wong' from Chongqing), who runs the blog:

lovelovechina.com

She panders to western orientalist mysticism of Chinese women whilst proudly depositing statistics on the width and size of Chinese female genitalia and male genitalia and posing ironic questions such as

"Why do Chinese girls wear bad underwear?"
 "Is Asiaphilia driven by p*edophi1ia?"

Her faecal deposits attract swarms of White male Asiaphile diptera, all eager to sink their maggot infested minds all over it, none of her topics would look out of place on J*mes Turnb*ll's site. These Asian women in focusing on these unsavoury topics for a White male audience fail to notice what is disturbing about their own behaviour.

In the case of the Korean wife of James Turnbull, she is fully complicit of their White husband’s sexualised interests in Asian girls. This is a man who posts videos of his own children on his website for a discussion on the sexualisation of young korean children.

This is how James Turnbull arrived in Korea...
"I am making a transition from an ESL teacher for 10 years to becoming a writer,  centered around the topics I cover on this blog.....I arrived in Jinju back in May 2000, and moved with my Korean girlfriend to Busan in September 2003...We got married in May 2004, and had Alice in June 2006 and then Elizabeth in August 2008. "
He forms the customary 'pre-route' taken by many Asiaphile White men. It is discussed here: http://bbczeitgeist.blogspot.com/2011/03/asiaphile-asian-fetish-asiaphilia.html , teaching English as a foreign language in Asia, a decoy to hide their real intentions of worming their way into orifices of local Asian women.

These westerners once they've poached their Asian prize, follow the same 'post-route' too...

"For the sake of my daughters’ education, safety and so on, my wife and I plan to return there (New  Zealand) to live within the next 5 to 10 years or so."
English speaking westerners in the Far East seldom turn native and trail back to the west with or without their lapdog, Turnbull is planning to do so with his Korean wife, Crystal Tao has relocated to Israel with her Jewish fiance. These unhealthy White Asian sexual fetishers find their match in the form of an Asian partner who is equally unhealthy and debauched.

Nigerian Singer Threatened To Break Jaw of Chinese Restaurateur

Two recent stories from the local English press you may have missed involving racial abuse of British Chinese restaurant staff, both with very different outcomes.

Nigerian Singer Threatened To Break Jaw of Chinese Restaurateur (8/4/2011)

Full article: http://news.stv.tv/scotland/north/242455-i-might-have-my-second-honeymoon-here-nigerian-singer-cleared-of-racist-outburst-in-aberdeen/

An African gospel star has been cleared of making racist comments while on honeymoon in Scotland.

Okposo - who has won awards for Best Gospel Act in Africa and Best Gospel Artist of the Year - was alleged to have threatened to break a Chinese buffet manager's jaw and "poke his eyes out" at a Jimmy Chung's branch on the city's beach front.

Ronny Shui Hung Yung claimed the 31-year-old Nigerian said: "Do you know who the f*** I am? I could buy this f****** restaurant. I could buy you."

The 48-year-old manager told Aberdeen Sheriff Court: "He said 'Your people are cheap, your labour is cheap, your goods are cheap.'

He added: "I thought the guy was getting really scary - threatening. He was huge."

But defence agent Val Bremner said Okposo claimed he had only told the manager he was "in the wrong job" after Mr Yung repeatedly pointed his finger in his wife's face following a disagreement over menu prices.

Okposo waited for police to arrive following the row but was arrested. He was charged with causing alarm or distress to Mr Yung by shouting, swearing and uttering racial remarks at the restaurant on July 7, last year, and denied the offence.

Fiscal depute Karen Dow told Sheriff Edward Savage she was no longer seeking a conviction after the evidence of Jimmy Chung's assistant manager Paula Li, 31, who claimed she heard the same racist comments being made but could not see exactly who made them.

Racist Woman Threatened To Stab Takeaway Staff Avoids Prison Sentence (29/4/2011)

Full article http://www.worcesternews.co.uk/news/local/8937210.Racism_shame_for_takeaway_woman/

Kiya Brandrick, aged 23, Worcester, who pleaded guilty to racially aggravated harassment of takeaway staff and assault by beating and obstructing a policeman, has escaped going to prison.

Brandrick entered the Golden Fortune Chinese Takeaway in Dines Green, Worcester, on New Year’s Eve and repeatedly made racist comments to Annie Ung.

Miss Ung sister, Mui, came to the counter to ask what was wrong. They initially refused to serve Brandrick, who continued to be aggressive before leaning over the counter.  They took her order but she lit a cigarette and other members of Miss Ung’s family asked Brandrick to leave. She blew smoke in Miss Ung’s face and threw fish and chip papers on the floor before threatening to “stab you up” and leaving.

Police were called and as an officer arrested Brandrick, she was “aggressive and hostile”.
A second officer was called and Brandrick was restrained on the ground, at which point she kicked out, striking him.

Ruth Edwards, defending, said her client was “appalled” by her behaviour but had little recollection of the  events because of a combination of alcohol and drugs.

She was sentenced to three weeks for resisting arrest, suspended for 18 months. She was fined £400 for using racist language and ordered to pay compensation of £250 each to Annie and Mui Ung.

Brandrick was also ordered to pay £85 costs and £15 victim surcharge. She will also undergo a supervision requirement for 18 months and a six-month drug rehabilitation requirement.

Some Interesting Stats
  • 15 out of the 25 are  mixed race
  • 9 out of 25 are full blood chinese
  • 16 out of 25 are female
  • 9 out of 25 are male (5 of which are mixed race)
  • 4 out of 25 are full blood Chinese males
  • 2 out of 25 are full blood Chinese male (BBC) British Born and Raised
  • 7 out of the 25 are British Born Chinese
  • 1 out of the 10 mixed race females are married to (or in a relationship with) a full blood Chinese.
  • 1 out of the 25 is a full blood BBHKC male- BBC (Hong Kong) male - Matthew Koon.
Statistically, there are observable prima facie trends relating to unpopularity, discrimination and under representation, it is largely faced by full blood Chinese men, in particular British Born Chinese full blood males.

Against extreme odds, 7 BBC's in the list of 25 have garnered a fanbase, Matthew Koon is the first non-caucasian to play Billy Elliot, Stevie Hoang produced music in a makeshift studio, Katie Leung beat 4000 other Chinese girls  for the single Chinese role of Cho Chang, Bubzbeauty had no outlet except the virtual world of Youtube. Life before Youtube, before the internet and before JK Rowling, the odds of these BBC's gaining recognition or an audience would be close to nil.

Just how Chinese are these Mixed race?

Bobby Davro Racist Chinese Jibe in The Wizard of Oz

Comedian and former Eastender's actor Bobby Davro left parents stunned after making racist Chinese jokes onstage in Preston.

Story from the Lancashire Evening Post (16/4/2011)
Full Article: http://www.lep.co.uk/lifestyle/culture/theatre/put_off_to_see_the_wizard_1_3294746?commentspage=2#commentsSection

Embarrassed parents said Davro, who was playing the scarecrow in the Wizard of Oz at Preston’s Charter Theatre, made continual references to Chinese people eating dogs and pulled stereotypical “Chinaman” faces.

Mother-of-one Rachel Ralphson, 36, from Euxton, took her nine-year-old daughter Maddy to see the show, said:

"The Chinese dog-eating jokes were really bad. He didn’t just do it once, also he was doing Chinese impressions but really putting it on."

“It was very risque jokes which you know the kids won’t understand but I think he was a little bit over the top especially with the casual racism.

“Maddy didn’t really get the references but some of the parents were just looking at each other. There were some points where I didn’t want to look at my daughter in case she had understood and then I’d have to explain them.”
.
In a statement, the Guild Hall said: “The Guild Hall and Charter Theatre would like to apologise to any patrons who may have been offended by the content of The Wizard Of Oz performances on Thursday 14th April. Any complaints will be dealt with accordingly and in due course.”

Chinky Eyes - Sexy Racist?

Among the Black urban ghettoised communities, there is an observable sub-cultural phenomenon...

Hundreds of Facebook profiles of dark skinned 'ghettoised' Black and South East Asian women insert  'chinky eyes' as their middle name. For these urban dark skinned women, almond shaped eyes are  a representation of sexiness, 'that phrase' is considered a term of endearment, casual racism is sexy.

Judging by the facial features, the first female has suspected Asian blood, however, She is fully assimilated  into 'Black America,' the remnants of her Asian heritage has been reduced to nothing but a ethnic slur in honor of her Asian ancestors for passing down their genetic features.

Reverse analogy can be used to illustrate how improper 'that phrase' is.

Pinky 'Coon Lips' Cheung or Pinky 'Nig-Nog Lips' Cheung

Appropriate, flattering and sexy? Clearly there are no double standards in casual racism...

Chinese Coronation Street

ITV's Coronation Street has a new Chinese character - Xin Chiang played by British Chinese actress Elizabeth Tan, she is the third Chinese character to appear on the soap after 'kae lae fae' fish n chip's shop owner Mr Wong played by Daryl Kwan in 2005 and Jasmine Choong played by Lucille Soong in 1969 http://coronationstreet.wikia.com/wiki/Lucille_Soong
http://coronationstreet.wikia.com/wiki/Mr_Wong

In consideration of the programme's efforts to promote Manchester's under represented  Chinese community, Weatherfield's newest Chinese character could not have been portrayed in a more negative light.  Xin is a Chinese restaurant worker on the verge of becoming an illegal immigrant courtesy of a expiring student visa, she plots a sham marriage to her friend's White boyfriend in an attempt to stay in the UK. Only a non-Chinese could have drummed up such a  cornball  storyline that reads like a press statement released by the UK Border Agency. If  Mr.Collinson's agenda is stigmatic racial stereotyping of the British Chinese community, at least interject some counterfeit DVD's.

The problems with her character are profuse, where exactly  did she get off the boat from? Mainland Chinese account for most Chinese sham marriages in the UK, but she bears little resemblance to a mainlander, her persona is strikingly South East Asian. Indeed, her name Xin Chiang, 'Chiang' is not a mainland name, hedge your bets on Singapore, Malaysia or Taiwan. Regardless of her origin, her character is supposed to be a FOB, but  listen to her accent. (Watch segment  10:19 - 11:40) .

At the start, her 'un-fobby' accent is unmistakably British middle class, it sounds remarkably like Myleene Klass, but towards the end - "we must get it right or we'll all suffer the consequences," it breaks out into Fu Man Chu.

Xin is aged 24, but how many sham marriages in the UK involve 24 year olds on expiring student visa's? From past experience of working in catering, students who overstayed their Visa did work in Chinese catering establishments, but this was over a decade ago, it is doubtful students from Hong Kong, Singapore and Taiwan are still following their predecessors, although one cannot be certain about Malaysia. Today, overseas Students from the Far East tend to be very middle class, many are so wealthy they don't need to work to support their studies, sham marriages are certainly not required, those who are desperate can simply depart for countries with less restrictive immigration laws.

As attractive as Xin is, a Wendy Deng she most certainly isn't, if She was uber-smart, she would marry  legitimately without the need for a sham marriage and then petition for divorce, not only would she avoid paying the sham marriage fee but take half his assets too. Or alternatively, she could find herself a nice British Chinese male instead, but this is verboten in the western media, attractive Chinese women are portrayed as either prostitutes, wives or girlfriends for White men, surprise surprise...Elizabeth Tan previously played a prostitute in Hotel Babylon. Xin's character has been introduced in Corrie purely for the benefit of a White audience.

The storyline reflects some of the more contentious topical immigration issues that have been avidly covered by the British press of late - detected sham marriages in the UK have reportedly risen from 282 to 934 in the last 4 years.

The most memorable story is that of  an Englishman who tried to marry off his mentally ill sister to a Mainland Chinese national, he himself was already married to the Chinese man's sister in a previous sham marriage. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/8426289.stml

Not to mention the continuing demonisation of the British Chinese catering industry through the UK Border Agency's publicised raids on Chinese catering establishments. http://bbczeitgeist.blogspot.com/2011/03/british-chinese-takeaway-racism-uk.html

Whilst the aforementioned immigration issues provide fodder for soap opera scripts, the current Chinese storyline in Coronation Street is racist, misleading and irresponsible in suggesting Chinese students are widely abusing the student visa system, rather students from the Indian sub-continent are the main culprits, the UK government suspended student visa applications from Pakistan last year and Northern India, Bangladesh and Nepal earlier this year.
